General Atomics AeroTec Systems GmbH (GA-ATS) in Oberpfaffenhofen is pleased to announce that its in-house Do228 flight simulator has been successfully certified to FTD Level 2. This certification represents another important milestone for GA-ATS and acknowledges the outstanding work of the team. The device already had FNPTII certification and has now been successfully upgraded to FTD Level 2 certification.
Flight simulator with state-of-the-art technology
The flight simulator is a fixed-based simulator that reflects the Do228 NG in the highest level of detail. The Do228 is a versatile turboprop aircraft used for passenger transportation, cargo flights and special missions. The aircraft is manufactured and maintained by General Atomics AeroTec Systems in Oberpaffenhofen.
The flight simulator is able to realistically depict all error scenarios and can simulate flights worldwide under almost all weather and atmospheric conditions. Flight performance and flight characteristics, including steering forces, are realistically simulated and the cockpit is authentic down to the smallest detail.
“Regular and, most importantly, high-quality training is crucial for the safe operation of aircraft in all categories. That is the reason why GA-ATS is committed to continuously expanding and optimizing its training offering. Our aim is to offer our customers the best possible in-house training - directly from the manufacturer, to ensure that the information and content provided is first-hand and state-of-the-art,” confirms Erik Bollen, Managing Director of GA-ATS.
Simulator training - a decisive way to increase flight safety
Flight training on simulators is crucial to prepare pilots for emergencies in the best possible way. Critical scenarios, such as an engine failure directly after take-off, can only be practiced realistically in a simulator. In a safe environment, pilots can react to such extreme situations and gain valuable experience without taking any risks. This intensive training ensures that they act quickly and correctly in an emergency - a crucial factor in increasing flight safety and avoiding accidents.
Together with the approved flight school (ATO) of GA-ATS and experienced flight instructors who have the latest first-hand knowledge from the manufacturer, we offer our customers tailor-made training solutions. This represents a decisive advantage for our customers, as they always receive the best possible training for the Do228.
With the start of new production of the Do228 NXT, it is important to us to offer our customers a comprehensive in-house program. From initial training to regular refresher courses and flight instructor training, General Atomics AeroTec Systems provides a comprehensive range of training courses.
With this approval, GA-ATS once again underlines its commitment to the highest quality and safety in the training and education of our customers.
